VAR Function Explained
The VAR
function in Microsoft Excel calculates the variance of a population based on a sample of numbers. It takes up to 255 arguments, which can be numbers, cell references, or ranges. The function returns the variance of the sample as a number.
VAR Function Syntax
VAR(number1, [number2], ...)
- number1: The first number, cell reference, or range for which you want to calculate the variance.
- number2: (optional) Additional numbers, cell references, or ranges for which you want to calculate the variance.
