STOCKHISTORY Function Explained

The STOCKHISTORY Function in Microsoft Excel allows users to retrieve historical stock prices and related data from Yahoo Finance. It takes three arguments: ticker, start_date, and end_date. The ticker argument is the stock symbol, the start_date argument is the start date of the period, and the end_date argument is the end date of the period. The function returns a table of historical stock prices and related data for the specified period.

STOCKHISTORY Function Syntax

STOCKHISTORY(ticker, start_date, [end_date], [interval])

  • ticker: The stock ticker symbol of the company whose stock history you want to retrieve.
  • start_date: The start date of the stock history you want to retrieve.
  • end_date: (Optional) The end date of the stock history you want to retrieve. If not specified, the current date is used.
  • interval: (Optional) The interval of the stock history you want to retrieve. Valid values are “DAILY”, “WEEKLY”, and “MONTHLY”. If not specified, “DAILY” is used.
