NORM.DIST Function Explained
The NORM.DIST
Function in Microsoft Excel calculates the normal cumulative distribution for a specified mean and standard deviation. It returns the probability that a random variable with a normal distribution will be less than or equal to a specified value. It takes three arguments: the value for which you want to calculate the distribution, the mean, and the standard deviation.
NORM.DIST Function Syntax
NORM.DIST(x, mean, standard_dev, cumulative)
x
: The value for which you want the distribution.mean
: The arithmetic mean of the distribution.standard_dev
: The standard deviation of the distribution.cumulative
: A logical value that determines the form of the function. If cumulative is TRUE, NORM.DIST returns the cumulative distribution function; if FALSE, it returns the probability density function.
