The BIN2OCT
Function in Microsoft Excel converts a binary number to an octal number. It takes a single argument, a binary number, and returns the octal equivalent of that number.
BIN2OCT Function Syntax
BIN2OCT(number, [places])
- number: The binary number you want to convert.
- places: (optional) The number of characters to use. If omitted, Excel uses the minimum number of characters necessary.
